One of our family’s favorite slow cooker recipes! This Crock Pot Brown Sugar and Balsamic Pork Loin is good enough to serve to company!
Confession: I love my crock pot. I use my crock pot once a week. I do not like dried out or mushy meat. 90% of the crockpot recipes I never make more than once. This isn’t one of those. We have this at least once a month. I have even served this to company. This is great with mashed potatoes. Sometimes I double the gravy just so we have plenty to serve over mashed potatoes. YUMMY!
Crock-Pot Brown Sugar and Balsamic Pork Roast

Print Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 (2 lb) pork loin
- 1 teaspoon ground sage
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 TBSP minced garlic
- 1/2 cup Chicken Broth
- Glaze! (I sometimes double this to serve over mashed potatoes or rice)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions
Combine sage, salt, pepper and garlic. Rub over roast. Place in slow cooker with 1/2 cup water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. About 1 hour before roast is done, combine ingredients for glaze in small sauce pan. (I also add the cooking liquid that has accumulated in the bottom of the crock-pot to the glaze) Heat and stir until mixture thickens. Brush roast liberally with glaze 2 or 3 times during the last hour of cooking. Serve with remaining glaze on the side.

This looks tasty! I have everything except the meat. Off to the butcher tomorrow! Have you tried it with beef? Cannot wait to make this. Thanks, Brandi!

I made this for New Year's day dinner (along with your marvelous Southern fried cabbage) and we loved it. I would do one thing differently: Next time, I'll omit the sage. I think it's just a thing with me, that if I add even a teensy amount of sage to a recipe, sage ends up being all I can taste. But that glaze...oh my GOSH. It's to die for! I'm going to try it with beef and with chicken (probably boneless chicken breasts), too. PS: It was also the first time I made the Southern fried cabbage and it was heavenly!

I think there are a lot of people that are sensitive to sage! Sage AND cilantro! Thanks for the feedback! I am so glad you loved it AND the cabbage! Happy New Year!

Mmmm, we have my parents visiting next weekend and this is going on our menu. Love the easy of using a crockpot so I can visit. I think I’ll double up on the gravy too.

This looks like my kind of meal. Pork loin is often overlooked in favor of chicken, but I can see all of us fighting over the leftovers of this!

I will be dreaming about this recipe until I can get it on the table. Our store has meat on sale this week so it's going to be soon!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Did you use a pork roast, pork loin or pork tenderloin? I have a pork loin which is usually pretty dry. I will give this recipe a try. It sounds yummy! Jackie O....
