Three great things about Devon

Nationally acclaimed areas of natural beauty

A Haven holiday in Devon isn’t complete without a stroll through the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, that encompasses some of the most beautiful villages in England. Further afield, you’ve also got Dartmoor National Park, a huge untouched area that’s yours to roam.

The English Riviera

The English Riviera is one of the UK’s most popular places to escape to, and with good reason. Award-winning beaches and picture postcard towns dot this scenic area, so it’s not to be missed!

The Jurassic Coast

Starting close to us near Exmouth, The Jurassic Coast contains millions of years of geological history and is certified UNESCO World Heritage Site. All of it can be walked along via the South West Coastal Path, making it great for the Devon bucket list.

Things to do in Devon

Top things to do for

There are handsome medieval towns to explore in Devon – and plenty of modern shopping centres here, too. Look out for landmarks like Exeter's cathedral and catacombs, or Plymouth's historic waterfront. Then there's Exmoor Zoo, home to over 175 species. Or if you prefer your creatures in their natural habitat, say "hi" to the wild ponies of Exmoor and Dartmoor. If you're an avid surfer, you'll be glad to see some really rad beaches on the English Riviera – Croyde Beach is one of the best surfing beaches in the UK, plus there's Bantham, Woolacombe and Putsborough pretty close by.

What our park team love about Devon

We are lucky at Devon Cliffs to be located in a beautiful part of the country, close to plenty of areas of natural beauty. Our local town, Exmouth, has plenty for tots including Ocean which has a large soft play area, and the Queen's Drive Space outdoor play areas and also accessible by the number 95 bus that comes onto park.

The local beach, Exmouth, has areas which allow dogs all year. Enjoy the stunning views on a brief 25/30 mins walk from park via the cliff path (part of the South West Coast Path) along to Exmouth before heading back to take in the sunset at South Beach Café. We are also close to Woodbury Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, where dogs are allowed off the lead all year round and which offers stunning views of the surrounding area.

The local city of Exeter offers an array of different shopping and dining opportunities. The Fore Street area has plenty of local independent shops to browse before heading to Princesshay or Guildhall for one of many restaurants and bars to enjoy in the evening.

      Frequently asked questions

Devon is one of the UK’s most popular home tourism destinations, with over 1 million overnight stays being enjoyed in the county in 2019.

Devon is the only county in England with two separate coastlines. The English Channel borders it to the south and the Irish Sea and Bristol Channel are to the north.

Devon hosts the largest open space in whole south of England. Dartmoor National Park is a haven for wildlife and is formed by a massive 365 square miles of protected land.

Two separate coastlines give Devon an array of different coastal experiences for its visitors. The southern sands sit within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that’s waiting to be discovered, and the north is full of picturesque villages with pretty beaches to match.

Affectionately named as the English Riviera, Torbay in the south of Devon is a great day out for all the family and is a brilliant place to enjoy the local cuisine, attractions and relatively mild climate in comparison to the rest of Britain.

Devon hosts the western gateway of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Head for Exmouth to find the start of this special place for a stroll.

Our Devon Cliffs Holiday Park is one of our most spectacular. It's close to Exmouth and offers a stunning view of the south coast, being perched high up with some impressive vantage points. With an unrivalled array of activities, entertainment and tasty restaurants, Devon Cliffs has all the ingredients you need for a memory-making time away in this magnificent county.
