Breakfast, it’s the most important meal of the day. Some people are all about breakfast-time while other (such as myself) are not super big into breakfast and eat a little bit on the lighter side. When it comes to planning this meal at Disneyland, both breakfast people and non-breakfast people just want to get this meal out of the way somewhat quickly so they can get their day started in the Park asap! So where are some good places to go for breakfast lovers and those who just want something small to tide them over until lunchtime? Look no further because we’ve gathered a list of top favorite spots just for you!
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill (Disneyland Hotel)
Tangaroa Terrace is perfect for both sitting down or if you want to grab something to go. It’s also a great spot because they offer both light and heavier breakfast items so it’s accommodating for everyone! I am not a morning person at all and therefore am not a huge breakfast person, especially early in the mornings. I recently visited Tangaroa Terrace early to grab something quick before heading into Disneyland, and opted for theAçai Chia Breakfast Bowl. At first it wasn’t anything special, but then I found that you really have to mix it up to get all the flavors together and it was an extremely delicious and light breakfast, enough to tide me over until my lunch reservation later on. It isAҫai Purée blended with Bananas, Strawberry, and Coconut Milk, layered with Chia Seed Pudding. Topped with Granola, Berries, and Cacao Nibs.
Other breakfast items include:
Tangaroa Toast:Brick Toast, Bananas Foster, Whipped Cream, and Toasted Coconut, served with Bacon (this sounds amazing!)
Avocado Toast:Toasted Hawaiian Bread, Smashed Avocado, Soft Boiled 63⁰ Egg, Furikake Hollandaise, Thinly Sliced Portuguese Sausage, Fried Nori, Edible Flowers
Loco Moco Burrito: Steamed Rice, Chopped Beef Patty, Fried Egg, Gravy, and Crunchy Onions, served with Salsa Roja
American Breakfast: Scrambled Egg, Bacon, and Sweet Potato Hash, served with a Pineapple Wedge
Market House (Disneyland, on Main Street, U.S.A.)
This spot on Main Street always seems to have a line and is extremely popular! It has Starbucks signature beverages, delicious artisan breakfast sandwiches and a wide selection of baked goods. This is definitely where you’ll want to go if you have to have your Starbucks fix in the morning! They have heavier food option such as breakfast sandwiches and wraps, and lighter options such as egg bites, yogurts, and pasties.
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe On Main Street U.S.A. is another extremely popular quick-service spot that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. When it comes to breakfast their menu is pretty similar to Market House. They usually have some fun seasonal offerings, but they too serve breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and yogurt parfaits. If you aren’t opposed to sweets for breakfast I highly recommend their raspberry macaroon. It is absolutely and magically divine!
Red Rose Taverne is a really awesome quick-service spot for breakfast, but be forewarned there are no “light” options and there are not many options either. However the items on their breakfast menu are really good!
- Beast’s Breakfast Burger: 1/3 lb. Angus Patty, Bacon-Orange Marmalade, Egg, crispy Potato Patty, and Arugula on a Toasted Bun
- Mickey-shaped Pancake: served with Berry Compote and choice of Hickory-smoked Bacon or Sausage
- Breakfast Platter: Scrambled Eggs, Taverne Potatoes and choice of Hickory-smoked Bacon or Sausage, served with a Petit Croissant
Pym Test Kitchen (Disney’s California Adventure)
This is a newer quick-service spot at Disney California Adventure as it is at Avenger’s Campus. I’ve yet to try their breakfast but it looks pretty delicious! Their breakfast menu includes:
Calculated Breakfast = E x 2 + (B+P)/T: Eggs Two Ways with Smoked Bacon, crispy Potato Bites and Focaccia Toast
Ever-expanding Cinna-Pym Toast: Baked Pym Particle Bread and Egg Custard with Cinnamon-Sugar Topping, a Fried Egg, Smoked Bacon and Maple Syrup
Impossible™ Quantum Garden Breakfast: Plant-based Folded Omelet with Impossible™ Breakfast Sausage, crispy Potato Bites and Focaccia Toast
GCH Craftsman Grill (at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa)
This is another somewhat newer spot that I have been looking forward to trying, but I have heard nothing but amazing things about their food here! Their breakfast menu includes heavier items such as:
- Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich: on a Toasted Plain Bagel, with Cream Cheese, Arugula, Tomato, Red Onion, and Capers, served with fresh Seasonal Fruit
- Biscuit French Toast: Buttermilk Biscuit French Toast with Bananas Brûlée, Toffee Sauce, Bacon Dust, and Powdered Sugar
Belgian Waffle: with Strawberries dusted with Powdered Sugar, NUTELLA®, Strawberry Sauce, and Chantilly Cream
- and more!
…and lighter items such as:
Egg White Scramble: Scrambled Egg Whites with Spinach and Asparagus topped with Avocado and Roasted Tomato on Crostini
